THE WINE:

Teso la Monja is the name of the project of the Egurenfamily (San Vicente, Sierra Cantabria, Viñedos dePáganos) in Toro with old vineyards from which theyproduce around 300,000 bottles per vintage. Thewines come in their powerful style, ripe and round,generously oaked and with the character from thezone. The range is defined by the age of the vineyardsused, except in the single-vineyard Teso la Monja.

TASTING NOTES:

(Translated from the Spanish): Tinta de Toro; malolactic and 18 months in new French oak barrels. Noble strength, a civilised, yet energetic Toro. Upfront in the nose, powerful, fruity, with amazing floral and mineral tones. With body, nerve and balance, consistent, flavourful, broad, lively. Score – 97. (Guía Proensa, 2019)

THE WINERY:

Proprietary vineyards situated in Valdefinjas, Toro and Villabuena del Puente. Head-trained in goblet, 35 Hcts. Average age: from 45 years up to more than a hundred years old. Altitude: 750-900 m. Environmental Integrated agriculture cultivation.
