THE WINE:
Avondale is seen as experts in biodynamic and organic farming and wine making where everything starts in the soil and it is believed that Terra est vita (soil is life).   A 300-hectare, family-owned winery situated at the foot of the spectacular Klein Drakenstein Mountains in the gorgeous Paarl Valley. They are slow wines where the grapes have been hand-picked and the vines have been individually cared for through sustainable and natural viticulture methods.

Avondale not only makes top quality wines using bio-dynamic farming principles, it also offers a fully organic wine alternative and is focused on being a carbon neutral wine estate.

THE WINERY:
Avondale is a family owned and run wine estate in Paarl, South Africa. Avondale specializes in top flight extraordinary wines approved by Mother Nature where we make natural slow wines with the utmost attention to detail and unique character. Owner, Johnathan Grieve, employs a “posse” of ducks, which patrol the vineyard looking for and and destroying snails, which eat the vines. The ducks are an eco-friendly way to avoid using harmful chamical poisons to kill pests and act as the guardians of the vines on Avondale.
