BIG DEVINE RED BLEND 2014
An intense blend of Columbia Valley Malbec and Syrah. A percentage of the Northridge vineyard Syrah was cofermented with Viognier adding a savory component to the wine.
The wine was aged for 16 months in a combination of new and used French and American oak barrels. During fermentation, the wine was left on the skins for up to 30 days, allowing for this wine to develop incredible color, beautiful tannins and a rich flavor profile.
Subtle notes of oak round out this beautiful wine.
This unique blend was aged for 16 months in oak barrels developing a rich, full mouthfeel. Blueberry and boysenberry with a touch of mild spice. Savory and delicious!
Lying in the rain shadow of the Cascade Mountain range, The Gorge remains a prominent relic of the last ice age, carved out by the great Missoula Floods. Past catalystic events define the rich, unique soil types of the Columbia Valley region. Vineyards here lie below the floodwaters and contain diverse sediments optimal for viticulture; soils of loess (sand and silt) overly gravel, slack water sediment and basalt, forming well-drained bedrock ideal for grape growing.
Targeting this terrain, our winemaking team has created a savory lineup of plush Washington wines — and they’re right on point. Big DeVine Wine is for those who appreciate high quality and convenience at an everyday price. Built for the sophisticated crowd, tradition meets modern with this Columbia Valley AVA wine.
