ANDRE GOICHOT BOURGOGNE HAUTES COTES DE BEAUNE 2020

THE WINE:
This wine has a rich, ripe flavour profile, offering dark fruit, blackcurrant, cherry and raspberry notes with an earthy, forest floor quality and a hint of spice. It’s quite generous but certainly not overblown, gracefully maintaining its Burgundian poise. A wine to enjoy for another 4-5 years with pork tenderloin or mild-flavoured hard cheese.

TASTING NOTES:

Direct descendants of those 18th century burgundies described as “full of fire, uplifting and light, almost all genius” by the Abbé Claude Arnoux who in 1723 published the first book devoted to the wines of Bourgogne. The colour is crimson or dark ruby, sometimes leaning towards strawberry. It boast aromas of cherry, liquorice, and sometimes violet. It have a firm, straightforward taste, tannins pleasant once matured, and just the right amount of body.

THE WINERY:

Founded in 1947 close to Meursault, this thriving family company took a great step forward in 2000 by building new premises near Beaune. This high-tech site has enabled the company to optimise working conditions and to become completely independent for bottling and labelling operations.

A careful tasting and selection of each wine has been carried out by André Goichot himself. The whole harvest is vinified, matured, bottled and marketed at André Goichot winehouse. This success story bears witness to André Goichot’s commitment to creating a future for the company.
